La actriz es Hedy Lamarr, la cual fue una de las chicas más seductoras de la gran pantalla en Hollywood. Muchos la recordarán por sus papeles en películas como Sansón y Dalila (1949), Éxtasis (1933) o Argel (1938).
No obstante, Lamarr era más que una estrella de Hollywood y una gran actriz; ella tenia pasión por la ciencia y la ingeniería, lo que la llevó a realizar varios trabajos destacados.
Hedy empezó a estudiar ingenieria a la edad de 16 años, pero 3 años más tarde, abandonó la carrera para incursionar en el mundo de la actuación. Más adelante obtendría el título de ingeniera de telecomunicaciones.
Junto a George Antheil, Lamar patentó la tecnología que hizo posible la transmisión de señales secretas sin que pudiesen se interferidas. Su idea, mantenida en secreto por el ejército de Estados Unidos, acabó convirtiéndose en la precursora de las comunicaciones inalámbricas, los sistemas GPS y el Wifi.
